Packing your Household Contents at your Current Home
Our team of elderly moving specialists prepare your furniture and carefully pack the belongings that you’re taking with you to your new home. That includes the disassembly of beds, large tables, the flat-screen TV, other large items of furniture, and preparing whiteware.
We carefully pack fragile items such as glassware and china into specially reinforced boxing, individually wrapped in soft material. Our team consider how to pack odd-shaped items on a case-by-case basis for their safe transit. The clothes hanging in your wardrobe are packed in special Port-A-Robe boxes and don’t get creased.
Transit of your Household Contents
On the day of the move, we take every care when moving your belongings, and we sometimes team up with selected removal specialists. We choose removal companies on reputation – on a ‘No loss’, ‘No bumps’, ‘No damage’ basis – and we only select removal companies that fully insure all loss and damage to clients’ property while in their care.
The Senior Moving Company team of elderly moving experts supervise the pick-up and delivery of your household belongings with an inventory of your contents to ensure everything is accounted for.
Unpacking and Setting Up your New Home
At your new home, we can unpack your belongings and place them exactly where you want them. Furniture is put in the appropriate room and desired position. We assemble your beds, and position the TV, coffee table and couch the way you want them.
Because we take photos of the contents of your display cabinets, bookcases and cupboards at your current home, we are able to place your contents back into the same place and position in your new home.
We take all boxes, packaging and rubbish away and vacuum the floor. We do any laundry, make your bed, do the dishes, and make you a cuppa. On the day of the move, all you have to do is make yourself at home – your new home!
Secure Storage
During the downsizing home process, our affordable, secure, short- or long-term storage is available if you need it. This option eases the stress of deadlines so that you can store some possessions temporarily between homes.
Short-term storage also gives you extra time to decide or make arrangements later about some of the household contents that you are unable to decide on now at this stressful time. Once you have settled into your new home, you may then be in a better position to make good decisions about your contents in storage.
Cleaning your Present Home
After your furniture and household contents have been cleared by the removal company, we clean and tidy your current house. We offer two options:
- Light Clean: tidying, vacuuming, hard floors, cupboards, kitchen, and bathroom(s)
- Full Clean: tidying, carpet cleaning, hard floors, cupboards, windows (both sides), sills, walls, ceilings, doors, kitchen, oven, and bathroom(s)

Keeping Important Items With You
There are certain items we would recommend you pack yourself – to give you peace of mind knowing where these things are at all times. You never know when you’ll need access to documents or any personal items amid all the other boxes. Pack these things yourself and keep them separate. Knowing where they are will also save you time and worry.

- Precious items of sentimental value
And don’t forget your mobile phone charger!
Transfer / Cancel Utilities
If you need any services such as electricity, phone & broadband, receiving the newspaper, etc., transferred or discontinued, we can do that for you. We deal with these responsibilities according to your instructions and keep you informed.
Communicating with Family and Professionals
We work alongside family members, health providers, tradespeople, lawyers, real estate agents, etc., if required. Again, we discuss everything with you and keep you informed.
Selling Your Home
